Some projects need a full translation. Others need revision, post-editing, or editorial work on material that already exists. Some need an interpreter.
The right service depends on the nature of the work, the setting in which it takes place and how sensitive the material is.

Translation
I translate between Arabic and English in both directions. The work ranges from institutional and policy texts to reports, articles, academic material, profiles and public-facing content.
What matters in most of these cases is not just accuracy but whether the translation holds up as a document in its own right. The terminology needs to reflect the subject matter properly, and the tone and register have to work for the people who will actually read the text. Beyond that, there is the question of how meaning holds together across a document. When a source text is building a careful argument or handling something with particular precision, the translation needs to carry the same intent and weight in language that reads naturally to the target audience.

Bilingual revision
This is for translations that already exist and need to be reviewed before they are published, submitted or circulated. It is not proofreading. The work involves reading the translation against the source to check for mistranslations, omissions, terminology problems, inconsistencies and wording that is weak or potentially misleading.
A translation can be grammatically correct and still misrepresent the source in ways that only become visible when someone reads it against the original. Revision catches those problems before the text reaches the reader.

Machine translation post-editing (MTPE)
Machine-translated text needs human editing before it can be used in any professional or public-facing context. The amount of work depends on the quality of the output. Some machine-translated drafts need light correction. Others need substantial reworking, and in some cases the only realistic option is to retranslate.
I assess what the draft actually needs and work accordingly.

Editing and editorial support
This is editorial work on texts being prepared for publication, submission or wider circulation. The source material can range from translated drafts and bilingual documents to reports, articles, proposals, speeches, web copy and content written in-house. The work can be in Arabic, English or both.
The scope depends on the text. Some material needs structural work and clearer phrasing. Other material reads well enough but the register, terminology or tone needs adjusting.

Simultaneous interpreting
Simultaneous interpreting is for conferences, panels, formal sessions and high-level settings where Arabic-English interpreting is needed in real time. I always work with a booth partner, and we alternate throughout the session.
I have interpreted at UN and multilateral conferences, FIFA and AFC committee sessions on tournament operations, and Interpol workshops on chemical and biological safety. Each required advance preparation on the subject matter, the speakers and the specific terminology.

Consecutive interpreting
Consecutive interpreting is used in meetings, workshops, interviews, delegations and formal exchanges where the speaker pauses at intervals for the interpretation to be delivered. It suits settings that involve direct discussion and controlled back-and-forth.
