Interpretation
Arabic-English simultaneous interpretation
For more than fifteen years, I have interpreted live between Arabic and English in conferences, meetings, workshops, seminars, technical forums, and formal international events.
I work in both directions, remotely and on site.
Fields & settings
Where the work takes place
The work shown below is a selection from a wider body of assignments across live professional settings.
Sport, technical development and governance
Long-standing simultaneous interpretation work across international football conferences, coach education, referee development, youth football, women's football, technical-director meetings, congresses, and specialist workshops.
I have interpreted for organisations such as FIFA, the Asian Football Confederation, and regional football bodies, across work involving technical directors, coaches, referee directors, fitness tutors, and goalkeeping tutors.
This work often involves rapid movement between technical instruction, tactical discussion, policy, development strategy, and formal committee-level exchange. The interpreting has to remain accurate while following specialist terminology that is often being used live, revised in discussion, or explained through examples.

Institutional meetings and international forums
Simultaneous and consecutive interpretation for formal meetings, specialist workshops, training programmes, and international forums involving institutional participants, technical specialists, and senior delegates.
This includes INTERPOL training and workshops, justice-related workshops, economic forums, and formal professional meetings across Asia and the Gulf.
These settings require close attention to speaker intent, register, procedural language, and the difference between what is being said literally and what is being communicated in the room.

Specialist conferences and professional events
Conference interpretation across specialist events where the subject matter is not confined to one industry or one type of audience.
This includes education and learning events, healthcare and travel-sector forums, technology workshops, economic forums, major international congresses, and other cross-sector professional gatherings.
The common thread is not a single sector. It is the ability to prepare quickly, absorb unfamiliar terminology, follow the logic of live presentations and discussion, and deliver it naturally in Arabic or English without flattening the speaker's meaning.

Approach
How the work is approached
Live interpretation is not only a matter of knowing two languages.
For a conference, workshop, or formal meeting to work properly across Arabic and English, the interpreter has to follow terminology, context, speaker intent, pace, register, and the changing direction of the discussion in real time.
Preparation matters. So does knowing when a technical term needs a recognised equivalent, when a speaker's wording requires closer handling, and when the English or Arabic needs to be restructured in the moment so that the audience receives the same point rather than a mechanically mirrored sentence.
The aim is not simply to transfer words. It is to allow the meeting to proceed naturally across both languages.
